How does Facebook Moderate Content?

Every post that is published and seen on your Facebook news feed can be moderated by none other than yourself. Any content you think is inappropriate, you can flag and report it to the Facebook team.

There is a team? Like, real people looking through content? Isn’t that supposed to be some programming behind the scenes filtering it for us? Well, yes and no.

A moderation team exists that filters through all the reported content. Interesting to note that a lot of them (maybe all) are outsourced to countries like the Philippines and India. The report below says they may even be earning about US$1/hour. That might be exaggerated, considering I deal with virtual assistants in my home country, but hey, if you were to work for Facebook, the money is irrelevant as long as you can put that on your resume’.
