The Philippines recently broke the Twitter world record of number of tweets created with one hashtag in a 24-hour period. Around 41 million were recorded from fans tweeting at a charity concert. We’ve seen it happen before as hashtags were trending mostly for TV shows and we owe it to the fans or “geeks”.
The impact of this phenomenon will be discussed by Janette Toral , founder of Digital Filipino, one of the premiere e-commerce, blogging and social media communities in the Philippines and known as the ‘mother of e-commerce’.
