Thoughts on Cyber Martial Law
by JAM MAYER
I’m a blogger. I’m also an online media consultant. I do virtual community management. I love engaging with people online. I share anything that can help other people to make their lives better. I speak my mind.
The power of speech is something I hold dear to my heart. At the same time, I also respect privacy laws and don’t condone to cyber crimes. The Cybercrime Prevention Law has its pluses and I support it but when it threatens the voice of the people, then that’s another story.
Synchronize Our Watches To The New Filipino Time
by JAM MAYER
I’ve been a proponent of punctuality from day one. Showing up in meetings on time is a discipline that I’ve acquired from the BPO industry. It taught me to respect other’s time, be more productive at work (and play), and most importantly spend time with family and friends.
Seeing the post about “Juan Time, The New Filipino Time” by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Science and Technology Information Institute, I instantly took a great interest in their campaign.
Worldwide Google Plus Hangout Ongoing
by JAM MAYER
I was going through my Google + stream and found this virtual live streaming event. It is thus far the longest hangout session. I decided to watch through Livestream on HangoutOnGplus since I just wanted to observe before I jumped into the room.
Day Starter: Threadsy, Postling and Rockmelt
by JAM MAYER
I start my day by checking emails, Facebook posts and notifications, tweets, RSS feeds from my favorite websites, forum messages from groups and the list goes on. It is overwhelming and considering I have several emails, engaging with a lot of my contacts is a challenge.
Picture this. Log in to one account then log out. Log in again to another then log out. Maybe open 2 browsers so I can have a couple of them open at the same time. If that doesn’t make you feel stressed, I don’t know what else will.

Saving to Give Education to Others
by JAM MAYER
The past few weeks have been crucial to my evolution and with the recent celebration of my birthday, another year of uncertainty is about to unfold.
Uncertainty. A word that I used to dread. I was the type of person who would make sure everything goes exactly as planned. Any changes to the plan would make me anxious. Recently, I’ve managed to learn how to accept uncertainty and look at it at something positive rather than destructive. I now welcome it with open arms.
The SME Forum at GNN Destiny Cable
by JAM MAYER
I was fortunate to have been invited to be a guest in a TV show called The SME Forum, which broadcasts every Monday morning at GNN (Destiny Cable, channel 21).
The topic for that day was “Why Businesses (Entrepreneurs) Fail?”, where we discussed a few reasons why we fail in our businesses and how training can help bridge that gap. It being a broad topic, there wasn’t enough time to discuss it in length. I’m hoping that whoever was watching during the live show learned a few things.
iPhone 4 Coming to the Philippines through Globe
by JAM MAYER
As soon as the iPhone 4 was released by Apple, I couldn’t resist to visit their website and learn more about the new features.
Retina Display
The highest resolution on the iPhone is just amazing! Watch videos, display your pictures, browse through websites and reading emails is going to be one of the best experiences you’ll have when using the iPhone 4. Being a fan of crisp and crystal clear images, this made me drool.
You Will Be Missed Google Wave
by JAM MAYER
I just found out that Google Wave is waving goodbye. Google management said,
We don’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but we will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google projects.
